The Journey ...
From 1968 to 1972, I studied painting at the Slade School of Fine Art, University College London. After graduation, I worked in the field of visual communication while raising my family. At long last, in 2016, I was able to fulfil my long-cherished dream of becoming a dedicated painter.
In 2019, I entered an art competition held by Artists & Illustrators in London, where my painting “Sunday Brunch at Nicky's” was shortlisted and exhibited at The Mall Galleries. This juried show encouraged me to continue my painting journey with renewed dedication.
My work is primarily representational. I enjoy depicting portraits, landscapes, and still life. My preferred medium is oil on canvas.
Influential Masters:
- Van Gogh – for his immense energy and enthusiasm
- Da Vinci – for his intellectual depth and endless curiosity
- Vermeer – for his gift of translating tranquillity onto canvas
As an artist, I am inspired by the quiet unfolding of my life’s journey—often drawn to the tranquil lakes, gentle hills, and majestic mountains of Switzerland. In these landscapes, nature reveals moments of stillness and light that speak to something timeless. My work explores not only the visible beauty of the world but also the quiet spirit that breathes beneath it. Through each painting, I hope to share a sense of wonder, serenity, and connection with something greater than ourselves.
Von 1968 bis 1972 studierte ich Malerei an der Slade School of Fine Art, University College London. Nach meinem Abschluss arbeitete ich im Bereich der visuellen Kommunikation, während ich meine Familie grosszog. Erst 2016 konnte ich mir meinen lang gehegten Traum erfüllen, mich ganz der Malerei zu widmen.
2019 nahm ich an einem Kunstwettbewerb des Magazins Artists & Illustrators in London teil. Mein Gemälde „Sunday Brunch at Nicky’s“ wurde in die engere Auswahl aufgenommen und in den Mall Galleries ausgestellt. Diese von einer Jury kuratierte Ausstellung ermutigte mich, meinen künstlerischen Weg mit neuer Entschlossenheit fortzusetzen.
Meine Arbeiten sind überwiegend gegenständlich. Ich male besonders gern Porträts, Landschaften und Stillleben – bevorzugt mit Öl auf Leinwand.

Als Künstler lasse ich mich von der stillen Entfaltung meines Lebenswegs inspirieren – oft geführt zu ruhigen Seen, sanften Hügeln und majestätischen Bergen der Schweiz. In diesen Landschaften offenbart die Natur Augenblicke der Stille und des Lichts, die etwas Zeitloses in sich tragen. Meine Werke spiegeln nicht nur die sichtbare Schönheit der Welt, sondern auch den leisen Geist wider, der unter ihrer Oberfläche schwingt. Mit jedem Gemälde möchte ich ein Gefühl von Staunen, innerem Frieden und Verbundenheit mit etwas Grösserem teilen.
